JOB LOCATION: Queen Nandi Regional Hospital (Empangeni)

REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 senior certificate or an equivalent. a degree or diploma in general nursing and midwifery, a current SANC receipt (2023), and authorization to practise as a professional nurse. After being registered as a professional nurse with the SANC in general nursing, you must have at least seven (07) years of relevant, recognisable nursing experience. MS Office software and a legitimate EB (Code 8) driver’s licence.

Recommendation: Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation experience in a Health Care Environment will be an added advantage.

Required Knowledge, Competencies, and Knowledge:

Knowledge of the Quality Assurance Framework, current public service laws, and laws relating to health. understanding of patient safety incident reporting, risk management, and hospital quality assurance procedures. understanding of hospital operations and procedures. practical knowledge of accreditation and quality assurance. understanding of provincial and national priority programmes and guidelines. understanding of the Clinical Governance Framework and its application.

understanding of the framework for realising and maintaining the ideal hospital. Ability to evaluate complex material critically and interpret the results in light of performance, health outcomes, and institution- and performance-related data. application of computer software packages to a high level of proficiency. strong organisational, planning, and leadership skills. Skills in project management.

Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. a capacity for independent and under time constraints work. high level of verbal and written communication skills. managerial abilities.

DUTIES:

Create and advance a culture of quality assurance throughout the institution.
Facilitate and guarantee the facility’s Quality Assurance Committees are operating effectively. Ensure and keep an eye on the institution’s adherence to quality programmes, particularly the Ideal Hospital Realisation and Maintenance Framework and Norms and Standards. Promote the creation of institutional SOPs and standards for quality while taking part in their creation.

All patient safety issues must be reported and documented in the facility. Develop and instil a positive culture of clinical and corporate governance. Clinical care, waiting times, and the patient experience of care at the institution are all subject to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting at the institutional level. Keep accurate reports and records of your quality evaluations, and make sure you take prompt action when something isn’t right. Give all institution departments guidance on many facets of high-quality treatment.

assemble and deliver monthly/quarterly reports to senior management for prompt delivery to the district. Create a business plan for the division and maintain control over how the budget is used. Participate in the District Quality Improvement Committees on behalf of the institution. Report to senior management after conducting quality improvement audits, surveys, and evaluations in accordance with plans. The hospital’s quality of care delivery should be monitored and evaluated.

Ensure that national and local efforts (Patient Rights Charter, Batho Pele) are carried out. system for managing complaints, etc. All Quality Improvement Plans should be located, facilitated, and coordinated.
