REQUIREMENTS:
According to Government Notice R.425 (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) as a Professional Nurse, Grade 12 with a Basic qualification recognised with the South African Nursing Council, or an equivalent qualification that permits registration with SANC as a Professional, is required. According to Government Notice R.212, Post Basic Nursing Qualifications with a minimum 1-year length in the applicable specialisation (Post-Basic Psychiatry Nursing Science) must be accredited with the SANC.
After being registered as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing, at least 4 years of relevant, recognisable nursing experience is required. Knowledge of the PFMA, Public Service Act and Regulations, Norms and Standards for Licencing of Residential and/or Day Care Facilities for Persons with Mental Illness or Profound Intellectual Disability, Gauteng Province Mental Health Strategy and Action Plan 2019–2023, and related legal and ethical practise is required.

DUTIES:
As instructed by the NGO’s licencing requirements, rules, and protocols, train and assist the NGOs in guaranteeing the provision of high-quality nursing care.
Manage the granting of NGOs licences in compliance with the rules in place. Support, oversee, and assess the programmes and operations of mental health NGOs for compliance.
Participate in the auditing of drug and alcohol rehab facilities.
Make decisions that are pertinent to patient treatment and NGOs working in the field of mental health while leading the MDT members. effective use of the NGCT’s financial, material, and people resources. participation in training and research pertaining to mental health. Create and preserve productive working relationships with important stakeholders.
Uphold professional development, ethical standards, and the advancement of oneself and colleagues. As needed, create and submit reports and data. Participate in programmes that promote and prevent mental illness.
Carry out any additional tasks the Supervisor may assign.
