REQUIREMENTS:
12th grade (STD 10). A one-year Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety registered with a reputable institution will be an added advantage. Basic qualification accredited with SANC in accordance with Government Notice R425 (i.e. diploma/degree or Equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse).
After becoming registered as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing, at least 7 years of relevant, recognisable experience in nursing. At least three of the aforementioned years must have been spent in a suitable or recognisable capacity coordinating OHS and implementing worker wellness programmes. Being computer literate will be helpful.

DUTIES:
providing comprehensive information on laws, regulations, guidelines, OHS prescriptions, ethical nursing practice, and how it affects service delivery. understanding of the Labour Laws Act. Facilitate, coordinate, and review the institution’s OHS and staff wellness clinic standard operating procedures and guidelines. Create and manage an efficient hospital staff wellness centre in accordance with national regulations and laws.
Create and put into effect policies. Verify that the medical facility is adhering to all general safety laws. Ability to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the laws governing OHS and wellness initiatives, including the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. To fulfil deadlines, compile, analyse, and deliver correct reports. Maintain a healing environment where medical care can be given. Conduct training, and create OHS and monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for the Staff Wellness Clinic.
Uphold professional development, ethical standards, and the development of oneself and others. Organise and lead significant inspections to ensure adherence to OHS regulations. Organise, carry out and oversee staff medical monitoring in accordance with HCS. In conformity with Occupational Health and Safety laws, prevent, manage, and report workplace illnesses and injuries.
Maintain accreditation requirements by making sure that the ideal hospital framework and national norms and standards are followed. Support the institution’s efforts to improve quality and prevent and control infection. Coordinate and represent OHS and the staff wellness clinic at all necessary management and other meetings. Participate in a few hospital committees as assigned, and be morally upright and capable of maintaining informational secrecy.
Coordinate the emergency preparedness plan and make sure the hospital complies. Make plans for employee wellness initiatives.
Plan and oversee the execution of training and drills to achieve the hospital’s operational plan objectives that are in line with the APP. To the extent permitted by the DPSA and EHWP Framework, offer all-inclusive employee health and wellness services. Uphold positive ties with EWP, OHS, and other stakeholders. HR.
