REQUIREMENTS:

Matric, a degree that enables Clinical Psychologists to register with the HPCSA in the proper registration category. registration as a clinical psychologist in one of the designated categories with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Grade 1: None for South African-qualified personnel who completed community service as required by South Africa after registering with the HPCSA in the relevant profession (where applicable).

For foreign-qualified personnel who are exempt from South Africa’s requirement for community service, one year of relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in the pertinent profession (where applicable). Grade 2. For South African qualified personnel who completed Community Service as required in South Africa, at least 10 years of relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in the appropriate profession (where applicable).

A minimum of 11 years of relevant experience in the relevant profession following registration with the HPCSA, when applicable, in the case of foreign-qualified employees for whom performance is not required. South African law mandates community service. Grade 3: In the case of South African qualified personnel who completed Community Service, as required in South Africa, a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in the appropriate profession (if applicable). In the case of foreign-qualified personnel who are exempt from performing community service as required in South Africa, a minimum of 21 years of relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA in the pertinent profession (where applicable).

Knowledge and Skills: Collaborative and intersectoral research as well as teamwork. Computer and analytical capabilities for counselling. Ability to operate independently, in a team, and under pressure. good interpersonal and presentation abilities, drafting a report.

DUTIES:

Provide outreach services to the district’s corresponding clinics. Offer psychoeducational counselling to people who come to the CHC.
Conduct psychosocial support groups, screen patients, and provide treatment for any qualifying patients with mental health issues. Provide outreach services to the clinics in the relevant district and train health workers and professionals in the various facets of mental health care. increase client referrals for those with mental health issues. Maintain patient records. supervise licenced counsellors and indirect interns in clinical psychology.
