POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Basic R425 qualification (i.e., nursing diploma or degree) or equivalent qualification that permits registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse plus a Post Basic qualification with a duration of at least one year in Curative Skills in Primary Health Care accredited with the SANC plus A Post Basic qualification with a minimum duration of one year in Nursing Administration/Management or in Health Care Services Management

current Professional Nurse registration with the SANC. After being registered as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing, a minimum of 10 years of relevant, recognisable nursing experience is required. After acquiring the one-year post-basic qualification in the applicable speciality, at least 6 years of the aforementioned period must be appropriate/recognisable experienced. The time frame mentioned above must include at least 3 years of management experience in either a PHC or District Health Services setting.

A current driver’s licence is necessary. Candidates should be capable of using computers for relevant contemporary tasks and activities. Other qualifications/abilities: understanding of how the appropriate laws and regulations governing the public sector and the nursing profession should be applied. understanding of the performance management system.

Understanding and application of the Public Finance Management Act, Public Service Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and Treasury Regulations. Recognising how to apply the Batho-Pele principles, the Patients’ Rights Charter, and the quality assurance system. strong research, presentation, negotiating, and communication skills. abilities in both people management and operations.

Interacting skills with a variety of stakeholders, health recipients, and providers. coordination and facilitation abilities. skills in organisation, planning, and problem-solving. Utilise contemporary technologies in an efficient and knowledgeable manner to communicate and progress any other departmental mandates. DUTIES:

Providing comprehensive district health services, including nursing services in mental health, maternal and child health, in- and out-patients, occupational, infection, environmental, rehabilitative, quality assurance, and any associated care as may be deemed appropriate by the relevant authority(ies), with the goal of ensuring that Annual Performance Plan targets are met. Implement the Patient Rights Charter and the Batho-Pele principles.

Make sure that the Office of the Health Standards Compliance guidelines and the Ideal Health Facility Realisation Programme are implemented. Keep track of the quality improvement plans’ creation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. oversee the creation, adoption, and revision of pertinent Standard Operating Procedures. Make sure that all resources are managed effectively and efficiently.

Encourage adherence to moral principles and professional standards. Maintain communication with the Sub-District, the District, and all other important stakeholders while operating and managing pertinent District Health Information Management Systems (DHIMS).
