POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 or Senior Certificate, Current Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions, Bachelor of Social Work Degree
driving permit, Shortlisted candidates alone will submit an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA) for applicants with overseas credentials.

Grade 1: No prior experience necessary,
Grade 2: After becoming registered as a social worker with the South African Council for Social Services Professions, ten (10) years of experience. strong knowledge and understanding of human behaviour, Department of Health legislation, framework, regulations, conflict management, group facilitation, family therapy, counselling, decision-making, ability to work under pressure with good tact and diplomacy, advocacy, and knowledge of DOH referral pathways.

DUTIES:

Make sure that users of mental health care are provided with social work programmes that are in line with psychosocial rehabilitation, to make a home visit to evaluate the user of mental health services living situation and support network, To gather data on clients of mental health services and their families in order to evaluate their domestic and personal conditions,
In accordance with the Mental Health Act No. 17 of 2023, rendering individual counselling, identify and suggest the relevant measures needed to provide psychosocial rehabilitation, family therapy, family reunification, and community integration.
