Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to ensure exceptional customer service by efficiently and accurately processing transactions on the Point of Sale (POS) system. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall customer experience by adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), promoting current promotions, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the counter service areas.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Great Customer Service: Effortlessly deliver exceptional customer service by processing customer orders in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience for every patron.
- Maintain Speed of Service: Uphold efficient transaction processing to minimize wait times for customers, optimizing service speed and enhancing overall satisfaction levels.
- Process Payment Types Accurately: Execute accurate payment processing procedures in adherence to SOPs, ensuring precision and reliability in financial transactions.
- Educate Customers about Current Promotions: Actively engage with customers to inform them about ongoing promotions, special offers, and discounts, fostering sales opportunities and driving revenue growth.
- Increase Ticket Averages: Employ upselling and suggestive selling techniques to increase the average value of customer transactions, thereby maximizing revenue generation and profitability.
- Maintain Cleanliness and Hygiene: Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of counter service areas are upheld to the highest standards, in line with SOPs and regulatory requirements, fostering a pleasant and sanitary environment for customers and staff alike.
- Maintain Front of House (FOH) Stock: Manage and replenish stock levels in the front-of-house area according to SOPs, ensuring adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand and operational requirements.
Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Preferred): Possession of a national senior certificate is preferred, demonstrating a foundational level of educational attainment.
- Senior Certificate (Required): A senior certificate is required for this role, indicating a minimum level of educational qualification necessary to perform the duties effectively.
- Well-developed Literacy Skills: Strong literacy skills are essential for effectively communicating with customers, understanding SOPs, and processing transactional documentation accurately.
- Well-developed Numeracy Skills: Proficient numeracy skills are crucial for accurately processing financial transactions, handling currency, and calculating totals.
- One Year’s Experience as a Retail Cashier: Previous experience as a retail cashier, preferably within a quick-service restaurant (QSR) environment, is required to demonstrate proficiency in transaction processing and customer service delivery.
