POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Mmed (psych) or FC Psych, along with registration with HPCSA as a medical specialist, with an MBChB or comparable diploma. presently registered with the HPCSA. appropriate professional experience. Ability to lead a team of different disciplines while working in a unit. Understanding of public health and welfare laws, regulations, practises, and medical ethics. An added benefit will be having management expertise.

knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. the capacity to plan and deliver presentations and training. good interpersonal and communication abilities. DUTIES:

At a specialist level, the chosen individual will do administrative and clinical tasks. He or she will create and implement evidence-based clinical procedures and recommendations, as well as completely consult, assess, and manage in- and outpatients (including patients outside the mental units). participating in clinical research and audits. By practising excellent clinical ethos, you can minimise medical lawsuits by timely completing pertinent medicolegal documentation.

Maintain communication with referrals focusing on patients who require additional testing and care. Implement national core standards (norms and standards) and keep an eye on their compliance. service provided on weekends and after hours (commuted overtime). Outreach to local facilities and services is provided. assist with, and take part in, the education, mentoring, and community service of undergraduate and graduate students, nurses, medical interns, and medical officers.

Enhance and enhance clinical efficacy, and establish efficient data use, monitoring, and evaluation procedures. Provide appropriate output and health outcome reporting. Assist in leading the multidisciplinary ward rounds and encourage productive teamwork. Facilitate and guarantee efficient communication with all hospital administration structures. help with service planning on a strategic and operational level for the hospital and/or its catchment area. administration of pertinent human resources.

Ensure clinical risk management and adherence to Batho Pele Principles and Patient’s Rights Charter.
