Position Overview:

To actively participate in all facets of the Apprenticeship program, including assisting with vehicle repairs under the supervision of a qualified Technician. The goal is to fulfil MerSETA trade requirements, successfully master-level tests, and achieve the qualification within a maximum period of 4 years.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:

1. Attend scheduled technical/ level training courses:
   • Actively engage in technical training to enhance skills and knowledge.
2. Assist with the repair of vehicles:
   • Gain practical experience under the supervision of a qualified Technician.
3. Prepare for level tests:
   • Thoroughly prepare for level tests to qualify within the stipulated 4-year timeframe.
4. Housekeeping:
   • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work areas.
5. Workplace safety and conduct:
   • Adhere to workplace safety rules and protocols.
6. Other duties:
   • Perform any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have Grade 12 with subjects including Pure Maths and Physical Science (minimum pass mark of 50% per subject is advantageous).
• Valid, unendorsed driver’s license.
• Clear criminal record.
• Mechanical insight and technical aptitude; skills and experience in this area are advantageous.
